Back Alley Bikes needs volunteers!

Postby sumoe » September 23rd, 2004, 8:51 am

This organization, in the Cass Corridor in Detroit, helps kids fix up their bikes, and even earn a bike! They offer classes to the kids and volunteer opportunities to help them learn that bicycling is a great alternative to "hanging around". I have posted their information in the photos section, in an album I have titled "Volunteers Needed".

Volunteers are needed that are familiar with bike repairs, and have some tools to do them. Also needed are teachers for some of the classes they hold, like bike repair.

They don't have a website yet, but Todd Scott is working on that. For now, the e-mail for more information is:
There is nothing wrong with the world that a bicycle cannot fix...
