We are currently trying to put together a BRB team that has the time and willingness to commit to deadlines and work together with others. To minimize the level of commitment, we would like to have several volunteers to split up the responsibilities and the time commitment. For example, two graphic artists would reduce the commitment to producing only two BRBs per year rather than four.

We are looking for volunteers to fill the following positions:
  • Editors: people with good writing skills who will make only the necessary changes to ensure that sentences and paragraphs are coherent, grammar is correct and consistent, and information is complete (for example, making sure we have all necessary information for promoting an event such as time, place, directions, and cost).
  • Graphic Artists: we need volunteers who can put together a BRB in PDF format using software they already have. Our last graphic artist used Adobe Illustrator. Having several graphic artists is preferred to lower the commitment, but all graphic artists must be able to complete the BRB assigned to them by the deadline. Graphic artists may choose to work together to complete a single issue -- whatever works for them.
  • Writers: we need "goto" people to help write articles if chapters and event coordinators need assistance. These people are not expected to go find a story, but will be asked to help fashion an article if information is submitted.
  • Facilitator: we are also looking for someone who can lead this team of volunteers and keep everyone on schedule.

Guidance will be given for these positions, and I will be available for questions, but these are self-directed positions.

Please email Diane Ursu at communications@mmba.org with your name, email address that you want used for BRB business, and the position that you are interested in.

Some wonderful people have volunteered to edit and help write articles for the BRB, but I still need some people who can commit to designing the BRB (graphic artists) - people who have software that can produce the BRB as a pdf. I also need someone who is willing to pester everyone to keep them on schedule. ;-)

As a volunteer, you will not be left alone to do your job without guidance. I will be available to answer any questions and to provide help as needed. We need your help. Please volunteer.
