Island Lake Trail Day - October 9th

Postby otherdave » September 16th, 2010, 10:23 pm

Come one, come all! We're going to have a fall trail day at Island Lake on October 9th. We got rained out of our spring trail day and the trail has been in great shape all year thanks to DNR Dave and countless other volunteers who've given a little or a lot to a trail we all ride.

We have one big-ish project to handle on the 9th and we will be sending crews out to do some fall trimming in advance of next spring. :-)

If you have anything that you'd like to get done please post up ideas so we can prioritize.

As the day approaches I will post time and location for meeting. Ballpark is around 9 or 10 at the trailhead, but I will post more later.

Thanks!!!

What tools should we bring? Or does the trailer have everything we need?
Chocolate is the answer. The question is pretty much irrelevant.

We will have the trailer and we will have bagels and coffee at the start plus grilled lunch items for after.

Start time is at 9:30.

If the TC's need any tools other than what is in the trailer, they will post here.

Thanks!

I'd say loppers and maybe a shovel. The trailer has a good amount of tools in it but if we get a large turnout we could use them up. It's better to have too many than not enough. I'd recommend gloves and water as well. I usually use my camelback for traildays. Bug spray may not be needed this time of year. Hope to see you there!

A huge thank you to everybody who came out to the trail day today! As always, we've got an amazing group of volunteers that make trail days so productive (and wicked fun)!

Thank you everyone! I appreciate your help. I haven't had a chance to see everything that was done but what I have seen looks great.

My summer help (Jacob) said that was the funnest day of work he has had all summer.

Thanks Again,
