This new log pile addition is about half way into the Lucky Dawg section where you come out onto the gravel pathway and go back into the woods.
This will be the largest log pile on that section. Rich called me last night said he would get to work putting dirt on it and then I got an email this
morning informing me that he finished doing that ! Incredible. MIght need more when it gets packed down and like Dave said, will probably need some stakes to keep it from coming apart. I will get out there this week and cut off the top of the downed tree to make a bypass for the less brave/skilled rider.
Thanks to ibisman, Mike R. and Rich for your hard work yesterday! Now that it's getting colder, we will switch from
riding to trail improvements. :D

It's not bad out there. Heading out to cut a go around at the New log pile tomorrow and rake some leaves.

We now have a by-pass to the new log pile. I raked leaves, and added more dirt to the log pile and cut the downed tree we made the log feature out of around the end and though it took awhile(2 hours) it works great.

Please be careful riding the new log feature until the ground freezes as its very slick.

The trail was hard and krispy at 8:45 this morning. I did a couple laps in both directions to see how the new log pile worked and the whole trail was perfect.

Several large trees down on lucky dog. one right after the new log pile and the other after the long ramp going east.

I worked for several hours this morning, clearing about 15 downed trees on Buckshaver and others near the parking lot. There is a new log pile now. Very slick with several spots with solid ice.

Have to agree that I was SO glad that I came out today and rode the trail. The half inch of crunchy snow added to the challenge (along with the occasional hidden ice patches !) and made the whole trail "dry", hard and fast. We rode every section and doubled backed on Crooked Vulture and the East loop. It was a very nice pre-winter day and I had an awesome time riding Morty T today. Thanks for Dave and Kevin coming out to share the experience today. :D

Thanks goes out to ibisman for keeping up on clearing up the deadfall this season, high winds + dead trees = hours of work

Rode a couple hours this morning (8:30)am and the trail was perfect but for several ruts. The ground was solid with few ice patches. Caution on ramps, roots and elevated structures! Very slick. Dusting of fresh snow made it interesting. New tree down ( now log pile) going west before lucky dawg. Started raining as I finished. Hope not too much so the trail stays
Nice until the weekend freeze.
Big tree still down right after second wooden bridge from parking lot. Stay to the left.

I worked a couple hours this morning on the trail (buckshaver loop). I cut out the big downed tree after the second wood bridge , I Imagere-built the new log pile at the bottom of the hill, and built a go around near the end that comes out before the second bridge so you can do multiple laps.

The trail was thawed but mostly only muddy at the beginning downhill at the start from the parking lot.

I'm thinking of riding tomorrow morning . If anyone wants to ride you are welcome to join me at 10am. I think it will be solid with the 14° lows tonight. Trail is all clear and rideable.
