Trail is frozen solid, lots of stick debris down, I cleaned up some. Not much glazed ice, no studs needed IMO. Someone blocked off the first bowl, cleared that too. Tricky steering due to frozen slush tire ruts. Nice new tree stand not far from the couch that showed up in the fall.

Get lost or something? You didn't ride the whole thing. We did a couple laps this morning(Thursday) and moved a couple of small trees and alot of branches. Little ice and crunchy snow at around 20Deg.

trail on this day (Saturday) was great! No tracks and no foot prints, just a couple inches of fluffy snow.

Studs are never "needed", but boy they do give you that second chance.

Logman and I did Hickory Glen this morning (Dec.24th) backwards and the trail was great! No studs needed but Logman had studded tires as he was riding his unicycle. He did crash twice but I was amazed he made it over most of the logs and up most of the climbs.

Stuck my nose into the last section of the trail yesterday (Sun the 27th...) and it was ICY! I was sliding as soon as I got off the black top trail. No studs on the tires, so no trail riding for me...

Ended up riding the bike trail around town and on any non-iced over roads I could find.

I am going to try it again on the 31st to see if this snow is going to help the ice situation or just hide it under an inch of fresh powder....

Rode Hickory Glen this morning (Thursday the 31st), and I had more fun today than almost any ride all year. All ice, but covered with a couple of inches of wet snow and it had tons of grip. Two trees down, one at .75 miles about 8 inches around and I couldn't move it. The other at 3.5 miles was really small but wedged .

Trees still there at .75 and 3.5 but with the added snow much easier to get over. Trail was a nice narrow 6" wide path. Ride before new snow tomorrow night.

Got a couple of laps in this morning (Thursday) and ended just as the snow started. Trail was nice and packed about 6 to8" wide. I'm thinking of getting out tomorrow after the snow to try and pack the trail down.

Very difficult riding due to too much snow and not enough packing before the last 'big' snowfall. There were no other bike tracks and only one set of hiker tracks. I biked only two sections and walked some of it.

The dirt road behind the cell tower is fairly ridable- - its packed by snowmobiles and cars.

The paved path has been plowed and is fully ridable (no ice).

Skipped the 1st section early this afternoon but hit most of the rest twice. It was a beautiful day to be outside, cutting through fresh powder (sounds like I am talking about a run off of Lone Peak Tram in Big Sky). Saw runners, snowmobilers, a dirt bike, a quad and a couple of sleds none however were on the MTB trails. Very important to keep up your speed to avoid loss of MO and finding a need to hike a bike. May get back there on Sunday or hit ILRA on the way back from E Lansing. Be safe and have fun.
