yep safety issue. Hmmm. I seem to remember a teeter totter in the woods at one time too. Any way mister pickle, my dictionary I "picked up' while in Marine correctional custody on Okinawa in 1969 says "hemoptysis"is "the spitting or coughing up of blood". Which your digit did not look like. Sorry for any confusion. I realize this thread and all the brew-ha-ha caused by your unfortunate accident seems over blown but see, its raining and I'm retired and bored so I ramble. See you guys..I can too get through a whole thread without making fun of his wheels.

I'm going to head out this week to look in to the area in question. Up until this past week, there have been no known issues at the spot in question so there was no action ever perceived to have been required at this area. I will take a look at the offending area and see what can be done to address the concern the OP brought up and c0nsumer verified.

Yes. Watch out for low hanging branches and many slappers. Few muddy spots in the usual places and more sand at the bottom of some hills. I will be trimming the weeds again next week. Let me know of any downed trees. I didn't notice any but I am going back tomorrow morning.

Ibisman, can you also turn the trail into a sidewalk and install a virtual reality mountain bike studio so I don't have to move or risk getting a boo-boo?

Don't remove/trim any downed trees or low-hanging branches. Once you know they are there, just don't hit them. And if one catches you by surprise, what did you expect? You're riding a mountain bike through the woods! Of course there's going to be trees and branches! If you can't avoid a last-minute-surprise low hanging branch, then either stick to the paved trail, or grow a pair and learn how to ride.

Right? Otherwise, trail-grooming is a slippery slope to trail widening, high-speed sidewalks, and eventually *beep* marriage.

Actually, I bashed my hand right on the point. I wish I would have missed it.

Guys? Lets move on. The stump issue is being considered by the TCs, so lets focus on trail conditions without the commentary...

If we don't trim the weeds after a short time you wont see the trail in some spots. Just to let people know..when I trim the vines and weeds back, I always make sure to clear around downed trees and stumps so people can see them. or,,,we can leave it looking like this.

Commerce Township is conducting its 5 year Master Plan Survey... support the trial and our great sport by filling out a short survey.

The trail was fantastic tonight. No water at all, only small traces of moisture.
