They are called bashguards and they protect your middle chain ring and give you more ground clearance to get over such things without "destroying" your chainrings. You really don't use your big ring do you?<a href="http://s163.photobucket.com/albums/t318/ibisman/?action=view&current=reign.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t318/ibisman/reign.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The tree at 2.4 has been cut. Trail should be clear.

I rode this trail for the first time on Tuesday, and what an awesome trail! I ran into only 1 damp spot, but nothing bad enough to leave ruts. It's just challenging enough for an intermediate rider like myself to have fun and not kill myself. Great work MMBA!

Thanks Jeff, I've been real busy and haven't had a chance to get out there. I should be in town for a few weeks so hopefully I can take care of the next one and not infring on your riding time!

The Hick drains like a sieve and is the first rideable trail in the area most of the time. Most likely the one damp area you found is the perrenial damp area that we always have....One of these days I'll try and get that fixed...Glad you liked the trail....please use it....the city loves us being there and the more riders they see, the more likely we can get a piece of another park or two in the future....

No problem. I took care of it and then Maimie and I went for a walk afterward.

There's another big tree down. It's in the same area as the last. About 2.25 miles in. This one fell across 3 sections of the trail.

I was clearing some of the random branches away last night and a guy came riding up to the fallen tree.

I told him I would buy him a six-pack if he would jump it.

It must not have been you ibisman...... this guy carried his bike over... (as did I....)

I don't think anyone is going to be riding over this tree. Close to 3' off the ground and probably a couple feet in diameter but I would love to see someone try it.

Tree is about 2 miles in as of 9/5 PM. Anybody been out since 9/8's rain?

I hope to get out and get that tree taken care of soon....possibly tonight if my con call doesn't go too late but if it does, it will most likely be Saturday before I get it out. From what Jeff has told me...it's going to be a big project.....

Post up when you are going to be there, afterall, I do ride there often and will help with the log tossing but do not have a chainsaw.
