Cut out the one 1/2 mile in. After doing a lap found another 1/2 mile from the end. Got it too. The trail is perfect.

Trail is in great shape!! Thanks to everyone who has helped keep it pristine. Noticed to night that the face slapper season has begun. I will get out again later this week to start the trimming.

Not sure if I just didn't notice them before but there are some new signs warning against motorized traffic at the end of Log Cabin Trail. Can't hurt! I trimmed the face slappers the entire trail. Not perfect but it was nice on the 2nd lap. Also of note the poison ivy crop is off to a very healthy start. Some plants are already 8" high. Beware. Ride it now, it's in great shape.

Thanks for your trimming expertise and Dave thanks for getting those downed trees too!
Yep, those signs are new - hope they last longer than the last pair the township posted - eventually they'll get the message.

I passed a big old snapping turtle last night just before the small bridge(mile 3.5?). I stopped and he was a good 14" in diameter....chomp, chomp!! Watch your toes!

Got out and did some trimming and trash pickup mostly in the first half mile. Saw a wild turkey after the 3 mile mark - that was a first sighting at the hick for me, but I am used to seeing them at Proud Lake.

Trail day June 15 - Need a volunteer to pick up pizza and pop for lunch...

I cleared some of the larger dead fall off the trail this morning. Some of the corners were slick and a couple face slappers, but the trail is good overall.

ibisman, thanks for clearing that widowmaker!

Thanks for help Shaft.

I also noticed a lot of branches are encroaching on the path and need trimming (branches smacking my face).

I got the face slappers and trimmed the first - say - third of the trail Saturday. Up to where the mini stream and pallet crossing is.
Hope is not a good strategy.

Is Hickory Glen rideable today after all the rain this week? I haven't been on this trail before so I'm not sure how well it drains.

I haven't been there lately either but it will dry out faster than any other trail around.
