Nice this morning too!

All this rain has resulting in a lot of growth, and we're definately in the trimming season. If you've got the time and inclination, please do a slow lap with pruning shears, and trim anything that's overhanging or intruding on the trail. Don't forget to report your trail hours afterwards!

I know this isn't a trail condition update, but thought this might be a good place to post. Many of you have earned enough hours working at Lakeshore Park (or are a Mountain Bike Patroller who regularly patrols Lakeshore Park) to earn a season park pass. Last year we unfortunately had some people grab passes from the booth who didn't earn them, leaving the people who did do the work without a pass. So, this year the city has asked me to hand them out personally. I see a number of you regularly, so ask me about the pass and I will give it to you. Or, we can make arrangements for you to get it. After a couple weeks, if you have not picked up your pass from me, I will return them to the booth at Lakeshore Park for you to pick up there.

FYI, I do plan on being at Lakeshore Park on Sunday morning at 10:30, and I'll most likely be at Island Lake on Friday evening at 6:30. I'll have the passes with me at both rides.

See you soon, and thank you so much for all you do to make Lakeshore Park a great trail!

Lakeshore Park is a Great Trail!!

Trail was fast and clear this evening. I was surprised to see so many cars in the lot for a Wednesday. Great to see everyone enjoy this trail, especially in the late Spring with everything in bloom.

How much rain did Novi get yesterday?

Can anyone comment on the condition of the trail?

It rained yesterday?

Up in the Shelby Township area we got none.

I live a couple miles from the trail and we didn't get any rain. Should be in great shape!

*beep* really!?

We had about 20 minutes of decent rain... not buckets but not just sprinkles.

This would be in the "downriver" area.

It was raining slightly on my ride home from Dearborn towards Romulus, and then a little more later on.

Awesome though - I may be riding today!

I figured I would beat the storm and get at least one lap in early this morning. Wrong! I got about 7 miles in and it started with the lightning and wind and ...what can you do? put yer head down and finish the ride. The trail was alright with a few puddles here and there before the rain so....? heading out to hickory Glen for a few laps.

Just wanted to swing in here and say what a great job you guys have done with this trail... I rode it for the first time on Sunday (I mostly ride the Metro North trails) and had a BLAST; completely worth the 45 min drive! I'm planning on heading back this weekend pending weather this week.

Big thumbs up!! :D

Thanks for the kind words!!! Hats off to the 2 TC's there, Dave & Loren, plus the countless hours of volunteer hours by the members of the MMBA Merto South Chapter and Team Tree farm. Not to forget the great relationship we have with the City of Novi and the appreciation that they have for the trail and the work we do.
I just got done spending a couple hours out there and I trimmed all of 754 and Lost Loop. ALOT of standing water and mud. I would AVOID the farm for a couple of days.

Kind of goes without saying, but we've had a lot of rain here recently and Lakeshore's still very wet. Please avoid for a couple days.
