Yes. To elaborate on that, we've had a 1/2 inch of rain in Novi this morning, and the forecast says another inch is on its way.

Please avoid Lakeshore for the next couple days.

What is Novi looking like today? Rideable, or still too soft?

Lots of soft spots but only one area of standing water about 3 feet long. One large tree laying parallel to the trail in the Crater Loop on the climb leading the the rock gardens, that needs a chainsaw. Trail is in overall great shape for all the rain it has seen in the last week which is a testament to the trail work and attention this trail gets. Every year, it's better and better.

Larry

New here so let me know if I should post this in a different thread.

Do you know when they start charging to ride and what's the best (cheapest) route to get a pass.

Thanks.

The beach opens on Memorial Day - that's usually when the booth is staffed.

People who live and/or work in Novi have free access. Otherwise it's $35 for an annual pass.

The best and cheapest route is to contribute 16 hours of trail work before memorial day - that earns you a free pass for the year!

@Loren Thanks for the quick reply.

Tomorrow will probably be marginal for Lakeshore. Lots of rain here - I got totally dumped on doing a road ride in Novi tonight. Hickory Glen in Commerce (a few miles north) might be a better bet.

Did a paved and dirt rd 2nite and the area is just soaked. The Kensignton connector had standing water everywhere and with the high humidity tonight the water is sitting. I'd think most trails in the Metro South Area should be avoided tomorrow, but that's just me.... May I update the trail guide? :D Just joshin..

Anyone been out today? Looking to check this out for the first time today but it sounds like it doesn't dry out well...

I would definitely avoid Novi today. It is historically one of the trails that takes the longest to dry out, and we got an unbelievable amount of rain this week. It will have soft spots well into next week, so if people could avoid it for the next couple of days we'd appreciate it!

Yes, the trail is a mudmess. Please consider riding Commerce it was completely dry on Friday after the Monsoons this week.
Hope is not a good strategy.

Any updates on Novi-lakeshore trail condition status? It has been breezy/sunny since Friday am but we did get a ton of rain last week.

Please update if you rode today. Thanks!
