Can't speak to overall trail conditions, but ArcticRobot and I put in a few hours working on the pumptrack today. It's riding great, and I'd appreciate any feedback on the new waterfall roller we added.

Here are a couple pictures of it before we finished.. ArcticRobot found an awesome clay deposit and it was capped with a very nice mixture so this bad boy will be running fast in no time. It's not nearly as steep as pictured... we did a great job of smoothing it out with the cap.

I only got a couple laps in as I was destroyed from digging, but it helped maintaining speed in a great way both directions.

More work coming this week, stop by to see what's new!

Finally got out there for a brief reconnoiter ride this morning. The trail was a bit soft in places, but rideable.

We've been making progress on the downed trees and widowmakers, but I haven't ridden the whole trail for months and I suspect there are still down trees remaining.

Rode the whole trail this afternoon. Its all set to ride. No mud or standing water. There are a ton of trees down though especially after the pump tracks

Don't worry. It's all downhill from here.

Any of them capable of being removed with a handsaw?

some are less than 4" pines. there are a number of rotten bigger trees that will need some chainsaw action.

I've been working through them, day by day. Hope to have everything major done in time for the trail day this Saturday.

So far, the mess at the expert switchback has been the most intense.

I am riding with colorvoyeaur tomorrow, as I mentioned my saw is in the truck, will just be a short lunch break ride, but at his discretion we can do some clean up if it helps.

Postby steveracer » April 16th, 2013, 9:43 pm

Uh, Loren, whilst visiting the ttf forum, I see no information about said trail day this weekend. Nor that weekend either. What happens if nobody nose?

We are having a trail work day at the Farm this Saturday at 9:00 AM. This is mostly going to be a cleanup type of trail day where we do some trimming, rut repair, deberming and trash cleanup. We are also going to get rid of the old bridge coming back from Swamp Loop.

We will once again be doing the "Park Pass for Trail Hours" program, and this trail day should get you halfway to your 16 hour goal for a free non-resident park pass!

Lunch provided. We have some rakes, loppers, and shovels in the trailer, but more might be handy.

Forecast - mostly sunny, in the 40s. Hope to see you there!

Pump track was in great shape yesterday, the new rollers are great. Nice work going down out there.
