Post trail conditions and problem reports for the trails at Bass River

On Sunday March 28th, rode all 3 loops. Loops 1 and 2 were completely dry. The 3rd loop, however, had quite a bit of mud and water as I expected in the low lying areas due to the torential rains earlier in the week. I would avoid the 3rd trail for it to dry out for a week or so.

Accolades to the individual(s) who did the trail maintenance on the 1st loop and added the new logpiles. It was a welcome addition to that first trail to make it more techical. They were a bit steep though on the back side - almost felt like I was going to endo each time over them but made it more exciting, nonetheless.

Rode there few days ago, many many very muddy spots, try to avoid for a few days. Otherwise fine condition

Rode there yesterday, first 2 loops OK, last loop is mostly submerged in 6-12 in of water. I still rode it out so it is passable, like riding through a swamp, FUN FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bass River is hard, dry and very fast as of june 19.

For the most part the trail is good and fun to ride. I dont think MMBA had a clean up on this trail this year as it is so overgrown that you will lose your head if your not carefull. Most parts are fine but be very careful in the weedy sections. Some spots are so bad that you cant even see the trail and the trail is going up hill.

I wish MMBA would plan a day out there because I would love to help out.

The trail has been partially trimmed, its pretty dry and fast.....

I think "partially" is the key word there. There are some sections where it is difficult to see the trail, and I have the pricker marks to prove it, :shock:

but the trail is still a blast!! I could ride that trail over and over again all day!!

I cleaned up the section that goes up the sand hill. I know there is more to trim yet on other part. As of last night 8/28 the trail seems to be dry in all sections.

Did a couple of laps last night, trail was in pretty good shape. Back half has a little mud but rideable. It was fun to make a game out of trying to outrun the golf ball sized horse flies before they take a chunk of flesh out of your back!!

Spun out a couple laps last night. Back section was almost completely dry and there was no signs of horse flys. Dry and fast right now.

Does anyone know if Bass River is still open, or is it closed because of hunting? Thanks

Rode the Bass River singletrack thursday PM (10/7). The trail is dry, even in the far section. Don't know if it will stay that way as they are talking rain today.

Also, rode the two tracks up to the east end boat launch and everything there was dry as well.
