If you found it you can pm or text me.

Thanks,

Key found and turned into the ranger station. Thank you who ever it was that turned it in. The rest of the stuff is either still out there or finder's keepers. lol

I'm heading out to Poto tomorrow morning. Anyone know if there is anything blocking entrance to the parking lot? If so, what time does the park let you in? Wife needs me home for a graduation party, so I want to get an early start. Thanks!

If the gate is closed park at the ranger station, that's where we park when we start early. Official hours are 8am-10pm, sometimes it's closed, but I have seen it left open too!

Rode there Friday morning and came across a snapping turtle laying eggs on the trail. About a half a mile from the end of the lap. Did anyone move it?

Agreed with the post about Poto being dry as a bone... I have never seen Gosling Lk loop this dry so early in the season.

Btw, I rode the trail today around mid-afternoon (3pm-ish). By the time I had gotten to the section of trail that crosses Silver Lk rode, Park Rangers had closed off that short section. Apparently, a man had a heart attack on that section. Lots of EMS were on hand. I didn't stick around long. I hope the best for the man who had this happen, and hope he recovers.

Stay safe everyone.

Bad news, I came by about 5:30, lot's of Sherriff's and DNR vehicles. Looked down the road expecting to see EMS but instead a white Medical Examiner van was pulling up. It gave me the chills. DNR guy said a cyclist had died. It was a hot one out there today. Feel so sorry for him and his family.

The trail is the thing, not the end of the trail. Travel too fast and you miss all you are traveling for.

As far as I know it was Dr John Morlock. He has been my Dr for many years. I rode for his team when he owned Offroad Peddler shops in the Lansing area in the 80's. He was a nice man and could climb like a beast. This is very sad but he was doing something that he really enjoyed. No one wants to go but we do the things we do and are aware of the risk. Rest in peace Doc and thanks for the good rides.
It's not your strength or skill. It's your level of commitment.

What a bummer. How old was he? Was it due to the heat?
