We did a night ride last night. Trail was frozen, plan was to bail if it was soft.

The trail is almost completely covered in frozen pizza cutters. Way to many people have been out ridding this trail when it is warm and thawed.

Rode a couple of laps on Saturdays and Sunday mornings,1” to 2” of fluff on Saturday with many frozen “Pizza Cutters” in soil below from Freaking Fair Weather Winter Riders (FFWWRs). Snow this morning was more packed (by at least one “Fat Bike”), however, above mentioned “Pizza Cutters” still were present and annoying. Hopefully, the warm up and precipitation forecasted for Monday and Tuesday will help fill the ruts for a good freeze on Wed. unless the FFWWRs come out and make frozen slush ruts :x

Just wanted to post a "heads up", to be taken literally. Right after the largest hill climb, at the bottom of the descent immediately following, is a tree over the trail that will take your head off if you don't duck in time. Frozen pizza cutters all over.

Yea, I nearly didn't see that one on my ride this morning. I'll see if we can do a mini trail day (afternoon) and take it out. (I think Don mentioned it when I had the saw out there several weeks ago, just didn't get to it.)

Tried a ride today at 2:00 pm got about 50 feet in and had to bail. Way too soft and muddy. *beep*, was hoping for better conditions since it's been so dry.

Super sucky, yet we all thank you for bailing.. Good choice.

On the plus side, weather on my phone (Evo) says its supposed to be dry all week. Maybe try to squeeze in a session sometime this week. Monday = 44 8)

Hopefully it will stay dry and get cold and freeze up. Dying to try my new 29er.

2012 Scott Scale 29 elite. My first 29er, I love the geometry, feels close to my 26er.

Any updates as to what the trail is like? With the freezing temps it might be rideable.

Yesterday afternoon it was not ridable due to muddy conditions. (Although it didn't stop a few knuckle heads.) Tomorrow and Sunday morning should be OK with the below freezing temps, but the ruts are going to be a challenge.

It was nice and frozen this morning at 8:00. Watch the ruts, and watch the small stump sticking out of the ground about 6 inches on the left at the 1.4 mile mark. I had a nice endo there.

Was nice and frozen this morning at 8:00 am. About 6 large trees down (will require chainsaws) and numerous branches across the trail from Friday night's wind.

So, I mentioned the trees down in my last post, and I'm willing to help out maintain trails when I can. I'm guessing that I just can't walk into state land with my chainsaw and start clearing trees that have fallen, but am wondering, what is the procedure? Should I just leave the work to the TC?
