We really haven't hade a chance yet to check out the trails. Tom and myself were planning on hitting Bloomer on Friday to check out conditions and plan some traildays.

If you head out there, let us know how things look.

I haven't been there, but I can tell you now that Bloomer is still wet in most places! and everything low is really bad.

Dan is very likely correct. I am expecting to see it fairly wet still.

I was there yesterday to do some stair training for all the hike a bike at Leadville I'll be doing going ss this year. I came in thru the park and just went down the southernmost trail south of the first building as you enter the park. You know the one.....has some steps here and there. Of course that portion was dry. When I reached the bottom to ride back to the stairs that area was quite wet. I'm assuming it'll take a few more days of this windy warm stuff to make it anywhere near ridable without it being a mud-fest.

Thanks for the update Jer, Bloomer is usually the last to dry out!

I was out there sunday and indeed the trail is soggy. Please stay off all single track and stick to the double track. The River trails are very bad and a ton of TLC. the river trails are damaged due to the floods last year and the snow/rising river conditions from the spring thaw. I will be going over the trail this weekend to to scope out the really bad areas and see/plan possible re-works or fixer-ups that can be discussed with the TC and land managers. This trails needs a lot of help and I hope a trail day is in the works before the nasty green stuff begins to flurish and take over the trails. Hope to get lots of help from everyone who rides this trail.

I saw the same thing last night, along with about 25 deer. The double tracks are good to ride on. The River trails need a couple spots rerouted due to the river wash out. Also there's some soft muddy spots. The single tracks are still muddy in spots, still not good to ride.

Myself, Nick and Derek checked out Bloomer last night, its still quit wet, I would say at least another week or two before it totally dries out, watch for information on a trail day in the near future!

Postby mr_opjones » April 14th, 2005, 7:56 am

I wanted to go out Friday or Saturday and I wanted to ride everything. Any updates on how the trails are coming along now?

I plan on riding there after work today, and will update the trail conditions! Thanks for being patient with the Bloomer trails.

Just got back from Bloomer and the trails are much drier than last friday and are ready to be ridden! There are still a few wet spots to watch out for!!! Be careful on the ridge trail as it has had some erosion and has a couple dangerous spots!
