Did someone try re-opening it? or was mother nature not in the mood to cooperate?

No, it was deliberately re-opened.

Mother Nature is on the side of trail closure. She's been busy and as a result, I've had to trim quite a few places out there already this year.

No, it was just a nice, clear path through that area.

Yeah I saw that Saturday when I was out there. Before I couldn't easily tell where the old trail was, when I rode through it this time it was pretty obvious.

Why is that section closed down? Is it due to the washout on the climb? Is there a plan to repair that section? I liked that section and the climb. I would keep riding the the hill to work on endurance and climbing skills.

It's closed because it's unsustainable and washed out. To fix this section the old, eroded climb was bypassed with some new bench cut trail.

Anyone know how the trails are? I gotta ride tomorrow and I'm wondering whether I should stick to paved paths.

Mark and I just rode the race course. Around 1:30ish today. (We removed all the course markings)
It was greasy, but drying fast.
Tomorrow would likey be perfect, but this evening wouldn't be all bad either. You'll just gain a few grams during the ride today, but those will just go away in the wash....

on the double track there was a running race today. last year rocks and roots were marked.
Same big argument here last year.
I for one do not care.
if on the singletrack that may be another issue.

Is that the only reason why they are painted? Last year they were orange and I managed to hit one and bent my 32-44 chain rings.
