Yankee is still in great shape! There were more cars in the parking lot over the weekend than there are in July.

My friends and I rode Yankee Springs today for the first time. It`s a great trail and was in good shape for riding. Thanks.

I remember hearing about a new year's day ride. Any details out on that? I'd like to try to make it (if it's not too early).

Anyone been to Yankee after the big blizzard? Had a great ride in Ludington, MI on NYE and then the snow came, but we have way less than was forecast. Was wondering if the Thursday Friday warm up will mean riding again this weekend. Thanks for the info if you have any.

Look for a post from me Friday. We didn't get a lot of snow down here...with the forecast looking to melt it, the trail should be good this weekend.

I hear there is a running event at Yankee this Saturday. The racing starts at nine but I am not sure how long they will be out running.

There is indeed a running race at Yankee: http://yankeespringstrailrun.com/wp/winter-race-information/

They are using quite a bit of the mountain bike trail for the event. There is a link to the trail map on the info site. The cut-off for the race is 7:00 p.m. I guess you could go.....and it wouldn't be quite like running into a horse at Fort Custer head-on during a Time Trial...but, Sunday may be a better day.

As far as conditions: We have more snow down here than in GR. Today will kill it off pretty much. I would expect it to be somewhat sloppy today, but by Sunday it should be sweet. I rode out there last Saturday and the conditions were fantastic.

Thinking of riding this weekend - how is the trail with the rain/thaw/freeze cycle we're in?

Numerous icy spots. Studded tires highly recommended. Be careful!

As of Feb.3rd AM,the trail is 90% clear 10% ice/snow, worth the trip out there, YES. Tree down at the begining of the pines, other than that the trail was good to go.

Yankee was in very good shape today, even after it got above 32 degrees. The shaded areas have a little snow but the rest is very dry. No damaged caused, go for it.
