Rode the fort early this morning with a co-worker and the trails were in great shape. The scenery was beautiful, the lakes were cool looking with the fog rolling off and you could hear the military operations starting to the East. Other folks were running and walking some trails, some hunters were bow hunting, and you could hear some shotgun blasts from duck hunters I presume. All in all a gorgeous Michigan fall morning! Thanks again to all that maintain the trails.

How's Custer looking after the rain this week? Thinking about a ride on saturday. Also, is the bridge on 66 just south of 78 fixed and open? Had to backtrack quite a while last time to get around it!

Thanks!

I have not been out there since Sunday so not sure on the trails.

The bridge opened on October 12th so you should be good there.

Steve no worries about the rains we rode Red today and it was leaf covered but in VERY good shape. The new work on the Big Meadow jump was a nice surprise as I have been riding the Green trail for the last couple of weeks.

We've added a little more fun to Ft. Custer at the end of the Red Loop. Hope you enjoy it!

Hit the Fort today and dicovered this new feature. ^^^ Nice job guys. It rolls great. The rest of the trail was really dialed today and all the new Red and Green sections are really starting to bed in and flow nicely. Trail head was JAMBED today. Good to see so many out enjoying one of the last good weekends of the year.

How are conditions at Custer these days? Good for fat bike fun?

Conditions were perfect on Monday, should be the same still. Loving the fat bike craze, makes the trails much more doable for us with 2 inchers (tires!). Heads up (or really down) for the large tree limb that hangs over a part of the newer single track that lies between Grannies Garden and the old Freeway. Had no problems passing under this all summer, but on Monday - not so much. It's hanging just low enough where you have to duck now, but doesn't look any different than before. Just beware.

Conditions were super for the New Year's Day ride, so I don't see any reason why they still wouldn't be.

Trails were FATtastic out at the Fort today thanks to the nice grooming job by the fat bikes. But with the warmer temps coming later this week it probably won't last.
