That's probably a bit of overkill for ILRA. Probably nice and squishy, though.

Got a little trail work done today. In the rain!

On Blue just before the first road crossing after passing Spring Mill Pond. The bench cut down hill got a little attention as did the mud collection holes at the bottom. Planned to haul some limestone up there but my bucket handle self destructed. I did smooth out some of the ruts but still need the limestone to solidify it.

While packing up just before leaving this guy comes down the hill brake on, dragging his back tire down the hill. Not even a hello.... WT *beep*

Someone should make a PSA flyer for the kiosk to remind people that the lever on the left side of the handlebar will activate the front brake and that it will aid in slowing them down more quickly.
Don't worry. It's all downhill from here.

No,No, No. Racer boys don't want to slow down, they want to go fast. Screw everybody else.

Trail is in rough shape. Three trees down on the ground on blue, another two that are laying across and are close to being head hunters. Yellow just has one tree on the ground. All four trees on the ground are fairly large and require a saw.

The trees down on Blue are just past the three mile make and one is hanging low just after the hill climb if I remember correctly. Just after the second road cross at about 4.2 miles and another hanging low there and across the trail. I think around the five mile mark another low hanger and it is into the trail a bit. Forget where the other is. On yellow at the five mile mark or so one is across the road. Trail is really muddy.

Rode both loops yesterday afternoon and the trees are gone that where down. Still a couple low hangers and one hanging in the trail that will bite you on blue around 4 miles in shortly after the second road crossing. Trail is drying out nicely for the most part just tacky and little standing water when compared to 24 hour earlier.

rode blue yesterday afternoon - trail is in great shape with no water or mud. a couple of items worth pointing out...

1. blue 0.9 mile mark - tree down just past the st of two hairpin turns before the long straight away along the creek. some may be able to hop it - not this guy though.
2. just past the tree, blue mile mark 1.2, there was a racoon that was very clearly injured, ill, or wounded. very lethargic & just sat in the middle of the trail. i tried spooking it to get it to move & it was having trouble & just sat there. did not show any signs of aggressiveness. i sat & watched from 30 feet for about 5 mins - when it moved to the far side of the trail i hustled down the other side.

Metro South: Island Lake

One tree diagonally across the blue trail. Near the winding end, after crossing the paved bike path, before the yellow/blue merge near the trailhead parking lot. You'll see the skid marks. No worries if you use the blue to yellow connector. Other than that, the trails were clear. Not many derailleur munchers either. I think the rain stayed mainly south of ILRA today.
