Any suggestions for riding this? I'll be up there in July, and am accustomed to 10-15 mile rides around Ann Arbor (not poto yet... working on that one).

No problem. Flowy fun fast stuff, no tech and no big climbs. Very scenic.

It's a great newbie trail. Minimal climbing, most is pretty open with a couple sections that are tight and twisty. Thursday nights at 6:30 is the local cycling club ride, can be lots of fun with a group or solo.

Yeah, I'll most likely take you up on that. I'm headed up there w/ wife and in-laws, so it'll be a nice escape from that.

First time riding the single track yesterday. FUN!!! Lots of fast twisty stuff that makes for a great trail to just blast through. I was expecting a little more as far as climbs and technical stuff though. The last 3 miles were the most challenging in that respect. It was really dry when I rode and it made some of the corners a little slippery with surface sand and pine needles. But I came across no downed trees or anything to cause a dismount and had a lot of fun.

Rode this for the first time this weekend, great trail!! Awesome flow, and some tighter spots as well. It's not my gf's favorite trail to ride, wish it wasn't so far from Detroit!

Rode the trail today with my wife. As always the trail was in superb condition! She did very well for her first time. Perfect day for a fun ride! Then took a dip in Grand Traverse Bay to cool off.

Was up north for a wedding this weekend and got a free morning to ride VASA. Such a great trail! Makes me wish I lived in the area and could ride it every day. Keep up the good work up there guys!

Up from downstate again and it was a beautiful day for a ride! The trail is in great condiiton for the most part. No downed trees to impede a nice blast through the woods. The only issue I had was some of the trail is getting pretty sugary. Mostly in spots that surprize you....as in halfway around fast blind corners that throw your line off and you suddenly headbutt a tree...as I did today

But the great weather, awsome scenery, and the 5 deer I came up on (includung a fawn that ran the trail in front of me for 100 yards) made up for the slight mishap I had.

I rode VASA again on Wednesday afternoon. It was a much welcomed mid-day break from my conference at the GTR not far away. Trail was in great shape and I look forward to riding it again sometime, probably at Iceman this year. So easy to get to from TC. A couple of guys were out documenting trouble spots for proposed re-routes (John and Glen? did I remember that right?), thanks for the work on the trail.

With the odd/dry weather we've had this year, the very start of the powerline reroute has disintegrated with seriously ugly brake bumps. We may need to look at armoring or rerouting the first few feet there. Other than that, the trail was in GREAT shape for this time of year!!

Can anyone comment on the status of the trail this week? I'm visiting in-laws on the peninsula and hope to get a few laps in if conditions allow.
