The trails were dry and fast this morning. There was a group ride and they had marked the intersections with green and orange paint. Follow the green arrows in the first part to hit all the sections. The orange arrows are the easier route at first. Then everyone follows the orange arrows to the finish.

The school trails were in excellent condition this morning. The grass was wet but the trails were dry, we didn't get a lot of rain. I will be riding the trail tomorrow, the 5th at 1:00 pm if anyone wants a tour. Meet in the lower lot behind the school.

The trail was just about perfect this afternoon. No mud anywhere, even where i would have expected it. i just had to stop every now and then to clear small branches off the trail.

Stellar conditions this afternoon. This trail is at it's best in the fall as soon as some of the leaves start to turn color and fall. There are some great views along the ridge trails that are hidden during the summer.

Yesterday morning I walked most of the trail and cleared it of fallen limbs and small trees, it should be OK to ride. But it was still windy so I don't know what else came down except a ton of leaves and they are very slick when wet. I plan on working on the trail later this week to get it ready for the MiSCA championship and will be blowing off the leaves on Friday and Saturday.

Today and tomorrow are the ideal days to ride the LOHS trails. Blue skies, fall colors, and the trail is in perfect shape. It has just been cleared of the leaves and sticks so it is easy to follow and very fast.

I hiked the first 4.5 miles of singletrack this afternoon to remove dead fall. Nothing big that couldn't be removed by hand. but I don''t know what is in the last 3 miles or what may come down overnight. The trail was dry enough to ride, provided you could find it under the leaves. :D I plan on blowing them off by next weekend before the Fall Harvest race.

Trails were dry and clear this morning except for a small tree between the .5 and 1.0 markers, near the small pond. The school should get it cleared sometime this week but it can be ridden over.

I rode the trail this afternoon after the Fall Harvest race and it is probably close to being in prime condition. The trail is 100% clear of leaves and easy to follow plus dry. Just a slight dampness on the last singletrack climb. I may go through one more time later in the year and clear it again but you should take advantage of it now.

The LOHS trail has been optimized for night riding with reflectors placed around the trail to help you find your way. The last greasy climb has been closed off until spring and instead we now use the section from the short track loop to bypass it.

I thought we were done with new trail but today I walked a rough cut of .3 miles of singletrack that the school has started. We may be able to stretch it another tenth or so. And of course another hill or two but this time it's not my fault  It will probably be a few weeks before it will be ready to ride.

Check out the ride postings for a possible LOHS night ride on Friday the 11th.

I managed to clear off most of the singletrack this afternoon, making the trail much easier to follow. We will be doing a night ride this Friday, the 11th, at 7:00 pm. The trail is marked with reflectors for night riding. Meet at G's restaurant at 2775 S. Lapeer Road and we will ride to the trail.

It was a perfect morning for a few laps of LOHS. The trail was dry and clear of branches and leaves. This photo is from the top of the first climb looking at some of the singletrack that is in the first mile. The trail is very easy to follow right now plus you can see what is coming up around the corners :)

Good morning for a ride. Trails were clear of leaves so the trail was easy to follow. Dry and fast, well fast for a slow guy. Thanks to Steve and the rest of the guys that keep this trail is such great shape.
