Rockshox XX with remote lockout ?

Postby mrrubato » April 22nd, 2013, 10:37 am

I have a Rockshox XX with a remote lockout on my bike. The remote lockout does not appear to work, or if it does it is so subtle you can barely tell the difference between positions. It has always been like that and I am wondering if this is defective. Anybody care to comment. If it is defective do you have any suggestions on how to fix it, or where to take it?
Thank you

Try bleeding the lockout line you may have air in it.

Does your fork have a flood-gate on the compression damper? If so, make sure that the flood-gate is at least part way closed. If it is all-the-way open, lockout will feel like it has no effect since the flood-gate opens so easily to let oil pass through the damper.

Yeah I've messed with the damper with very little effect.

Ah, yeah. Then try bleeding the lockout line.

I have one and I can really tell the difference between it being locked out and plush, espcially on the climbs. I recommend bleeding the lockout line first before doing anything else.
What type of air pressure are you running it at?

Are you talking about fork or rear shock? If rear shock, there were some "problem" ones that escaped the factory.
Mine is currently in for re-build...even though it's on a new bike that hasn't seen the trail yet. Banjo fitting that ties the lockout to the shock body is leaking. Therefore the shock is never truly making it into the "locked out" position when you press the button.

Yes I am talking about a fork. It's a Reba XX. Well I'm glad to hear at least someones works :-) I am getting the lockout line bled and will see if that helps.

Air pressure is what they recommend on the fork sticker. I can't remember off the top of my head.

Bleeding the lockout line seems to have resolved the problem. It is not a real firm lockout but at least there is a noticable difference now. Thanks for the tips.
