Milford Trail
Proud Lake
Highland
Island Lake
Commerce

You can try out this theory and trails during the Milford Trail Challenge on June 2nd as well. $15 gets a map and discounted beers at the Milford House bar/pub. All $15 goes to the MCMBA (formerly Metrosouth MMBA).

Also, Poto and Brighton are riding distance from Milford for those who have a bit more time on their hands.

Bump for the Milford Trail Challenge: http://www.milfordchallenge.com/

Detroit has some pretty good singletrack options, and a fair amount of miles.

I didn't know there was any single track in the city of detroit

Well, its coming!! Somebody is planning to create a Urban/industrial biking using the industrial building/complex around Detroit.

so... detroit has pretty good single track or it doesn't??

I took it as a variation of the "I live in Detroit" statement. Often used by people that don't live in Detroit.

I meant detroit area smartass....seeing as how I live 20 miles outside of flint, and 60 miles north of detroit, yet I still have to explain to people I live in flint or detroit.

The plan was do an Urban/Industrial biking on abandon Industrial buildings/complex in Detroit. Its not a singletrack but its like an indoor/outdoor Biking .

The authorities on this subject (Bike Magazine) already declared our state's winner: Grand Rapids.

(and as an aside, the authorities at Mountain Bike Action recommend a trip to Waterford Precision Cycles the next time you visit Waterford, MI).

I live in Waterford and never heard about Waterford Precision Cycles. Went on their website. They are based in Waterford, ok. Wisconsin.

And guys, our trail system doesn't come even close with trails systems of places on the list. I just returned from Brevard, NC. It is an mtb heaven. We don't have anything like this over here, period. Even my favorite Highland can't stand a comparison with Squirrel Gap, Pisgah or Cedar Rock, DuPont. SE Michigan is FLAT.

The point of this article is about great mountain biking towns that also have great road riding. This is where Michigan fails, as our roads suck for road riding.
