Good strategy... Petra Bernhard is definitely hotter than the average DH chick. She must not face-plant very often :lol:

:roll: Are you my personal little cheerleader on here always following me around to point out your disdain for myself and my posts?

I'm pretty sure I can call two of my riding buddies dorks on a joking level .... at least last I checked.

FYI: I thought your post was funny, hence the lol. Sorry you feel so important as to be singled out. I apparently caught you at a bad time. Come back in a week and review, mmmkay. :icon_thumleft:

I thought you guys might appreciate a recent exchange I had in my office with my company's IT guy - it went like this;

IT Guy: "How are your brackets looking?"
Me: "Brackets? I don't do brackets, but my World Cup downhill mountain bike fantasy team is looking strong going into Pietermaritzburg this Sunday".
The IT guy then gave me the same look that I usually give him when he attempts to explain to me what's wrong with my computer and then we both went back to work without another word.

Just to clarify - I dig college B-ball. It's just that I find World Cup DH way cooler. Even though this IT dude had no idea what I was talking about, if he had the chance to watch a WC DH race he would most certainly dig it as I think most sporting fans would. Would it kill one of the 2,000+ channels out there to pick up this coverage so kids and others can see that you don't have to chase some form of a ball to be an athlete?

HA! That's great. That's pretty much the same look I get when I try and talk to my coworkers about the sports I do (MTB - Both XC and DH, rock climbing, wakeboarding, skiing, snowboarding, etc...). I think the reason they don't broadcast this stuff is that middle America has such a hard time relating to it. Even if they find it fun to watch a few runs, they're not going to sit and watch the entire 2 hour broadcast from Pietermaritzburg because they would get bored watching/listening to something they have no experience with and therefore don't appreciate the finer points of.

I'm not in the bracket with you guys but certainly keep up to date with the DH...Here is a course view for Pietermaritzburg if a few of you haven't seen it yet! I'm sure a good portion of you guys have checked it out already though! Major pedaling session in the center but those tables nearing the bottom are MASSIVE!!!

Team name changed to Michigan Mitten Mayhem, which I like better anyway.

The fantasy league definitely had me paying more attention to the race this weekend. I was pretty amazed that Minnar made up so much time at the end of that track - I can't wait for the next race, tons of fun!

That was pretty incredible... I'm sure everyone was thinking it was going to be the Aaron Gwin show again after seeing Minaar's second split, but man, he killed it on the bottom section. Oh, and <insert requisite *beep* here> because my roster is kicking ASS! Plus, I just traded Jill Kintner for Tracy Hannah after seeing how dominant she was at Pietermaritzburg.
